Brooklyn 4 Month
You weigh 13 pounds and 6 ounces and are 24.5” long.
You are wearing some 0-3/3 month clothes. The onesies are getting small length wise so you are wearing some 3-6 month onesies now.
You finally fit into some of your shoes. You just outgrew your newborn Nikes and are now wearing size 2.
You smile a lot, especially at your dad, and you started to giggle for the first time.
You went to NYC for the first time with our friends, the Ruters, from Iowa.
You were a mummy for your first Halloween and helped hand out candy.
You are going to bed between 9pm and 10pm and sleeping about 10+ hours at night.
You are taking one good nap in the late morning and then sometimes one more nap in the later afternoon.
You love spending time in your carrier facing out and watching everything that is going on around you.
You can sit in your bumbo but seem a little wobbly still.
You are lifting your head high during tummy time (which you hate).
You love sucking on your thumb and I find your hands in your mouth all the time.
You are starting to reach for things and sometime will grab your toys.
You love rattles and enjoy spending time laying under your jungle.
Exactly a year ago today Matt and I found out that our lives were going to change forever! While he was deployed we skyped together as we learned the results of my pregnancy test! Here is a little video to share my pregnancy journey! A year later we are more blessed than we could have imagined with our little Brooklyn!
Brooklyn 3 Months
You are filling out in your cheeks and thighs but I haven’t weighed you since your 2 month check-up.
You are filling out all your 3 month clothes and aren’t wearing anymore newborn clothes.
You never got to wear many of the cute dresses I bought you because you didn’t fit in them when it was warm and by the time you did fit in them it cooled off.
You traveled back to New Jersey from Minnesota with Grandpa John and me.
Your dad returned back from his 2 month deployment and you got to go out on the flight-line to welcome him home!
You are eating about 6+ ounces of milk at each feeding. Sometime I can’t give you enough so I have to make a bottle for you to be full.
You are going to bed between 10pm and 11pm (trying to get it closer to 10pm) and sleeping for an average of 8-10 hours! Mommy is very happy about this!
We are just starting to get on somewhat of a daily schedule where you get at least two good naps a day.
You sleep in your crib.
You love to stand on our laps and sit high on our knees.
You smile a lot and coo tons. I don’t know if I’ve quite heard you laugh yet.
You like to suck on your hands and pacifier.
Brooklyn 2 Months
You weigh 10 pounds 9 ounces (75%) and are 23 inches long (25-50%).
You are wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes but some are still big on you. A few of your newborn size clothes still fit.
You can sit propped up for short periods of time.
You enjoy being positioned up on my shoulder best.
You are most happy after your morning meal.
You coo and talk a lot when we talk to you.
You enjoy your floor mat and bouncer chair.
You lost a little hair on the top of your head but it is growing back in fast.
You also have a small line around the back of your head the is balding just a little.
You slept for 9 hours last night.
You had your first round of vaccines and did not like the shots.
You like to video chat with your dad while he is deployed.
You like watching the TV so I try not to let you face it too much.
You have met many of mommy and daddy’s friends in Minnesota.
I am a mommy
Finding out I was pregnant was such exciting news! Matt and I had hoped to see a big YES on the test when I took it back in November. I thought for sure I wasn’t pregnant because I had been having typical period cramps, but that was just the start of a growing little baby inside!
Just nine quick months later we met our daughter. A true miracle and blessing from God!! I enjoyed every moment watching my belly grow and feeling Brooklyn move about. It was an amazing experience. And now I get to spend every day with this little bundle!
